Noosa Food & Wine Festival : Jour 3

Bon peut-être que vous n’allez pas nous croire, mais notre journée a commencé à 7:30 … au gym! Sérieusement, qui est responsable de nous faire enfler aux endroits non-stratégiques quand ton week-end est dédié au vin et à la bonne bouffe! … Mais bon, après, un délicieux petit-déjeuner au Bistro C sur la plage, nous nous sommes dirigées vers le site du festival, où nous nous sommes jointes au groupe d’Australiens rencontré la veille. Concept assez simple et ma foi fort agréable, l’admission générale de 65$ donne accès a tous les kiosques de vignobles et artisans qui font goûter leurs produits locaux gracieusement. Le billet d’entrée inclut également deux coupons valides pour un verre de vin ou un tapas et en cas de besoin, les billets supplémentaires sont 7$. Après un régime sec (ou plutôt liquide) de vins, fromages, fruits de mer et j’en passe, nous sommes allées pour notre réservation au décadent restaurant italien Lindoni’s, extase pour les papilles! La soirée s’est terminée aux petites heures du matin, après une tournée des bars de Hasting Street.

Maybe you won’t believe me, but our day started at 7:30am … at the gym! Seriously, who’s the smart ass that decided that eating food result in enlarging those body parts that really don’t need to get bigger !? So anyway, after that we were so ready for breakfast and Bistro C was simply delightful and you can’t beat a location on the beach. After that, it was time to get serious about the festival, so we head down to the site and meet up with our new friends from the previous night. I don’t think the concept can’t get really better than that, general admission, which is 65$, gives you access to free wine and food sampling and include two coupons that can be exchange for a glass of wine at your favorite winery or a tapas at any of the food kiosk. If you need to top up your coupons, they are 7$ each. After an exhausting day of wine tasting, trying out local cheeses, fresh seafood and savoury meat, we went to Lindoni’s for a decadent italian meal. We finished the night pretty late, barhoping on Hasting Street.

Nous avons déjeuner au Cato’s, le restaurant de l’hôtel et je ne pense pas avoir été autant excité par un buffet déjeuner à vie … et si quelqu’un demande, on a eu qu’une seule assiette … Une. Un peu de magasinage et de tourisme dans le Parc National de Noosa (nous avons vu notre premier koala dans son habitat naturel), pour brûler les calories et au travail, on doit se trouver un restaurant pour souper … coup de coeur lorsqu’on tombe sur Thomas Corner Eatery à Noosaville. Rien de trop beau, on est assise à la parfaite petite table en coin et on se gâte avec un verre de bulles. On finit la soirée au bar de l’hôtel, où bien sûr on rencontre de charmants Australiens amateurs de vin …

We grabbed breakfast at Cato’s, the hotel restaurant, and I don’t think we’ve ever been this excited about a buffet … ever. And, if someone ask, we had one plate, not two … One. Then, we went shopping and wonder around The Noosa National Park (we saw our first koala in his natural habitat) to burn down the calories, before going back to our priority : food. We went looking for a nice dinner joint and we fell for Thomas Corner Eatery in Noosaville. We were sat at the star table and ordered bubbles … Yeah we are fun like that! We wrapped up the night at the hotel bar, where we obviously met charming Australians with a passion for wine …
