Oui, il y a un aéroport à Hervey Bay!

Après une interminable nuit au travail (et quelques heures de sommeil), je me suis rendue l’aéroport en direction de Hervey Bay pour une semaine de vacance bien méritée! Pas pour me plaindre, mais les choses ont un peu mal commencées : un début de grippe tenace a décidé de se pointer le bout du nez, je suis arrivée à l’aéroport BEAUCOUP trop en avance, tous les gars avec potentiels sont partis dans un vol vers Bundaberg pour me laisser avec l’âge d’or et j’avais oublié que petit avion égal grosses turbulences (pour que ça me réveille c’étais pas de la petite bière). Enfin, faut pas s’inquiéter, le vent a tourné quand j’ai vu le coucher de soleil (fin de la pluie yeah!) sur Fraser Island du haut des airs! Le lendemain, on a passé une agréable journée dans la ville tranquille (et ennuyante) de Hervey Bay. À l’agenda : café sur la plage au Enzo’s, petite marche sur le « Pier » et jasette avec les pêcheurs (ou massacreur de thons rouges!), petit lunch et partie de billard (j’ai tellement gagné comme une championne!), film et barbecue! La meilleure partie de la journée a été le OMG OMG moment quand on a vu deux dauphins (!!) à 5 mètres à peine de nous qui sont venus faire coucou sans prévenir! Dans quelques heures (oui parce que je suis complètement réveillée en plein milieu de la nuit, gracieuseté de mon horaire de travail, en collaboration avec ma toux), nous partons pour Fraser Island, un des plus beaux sites naturels d’Australie! J’ai hâte!

After a never-ending night at work (and not enough sleep), I’m off to Hervey Bay for a full week of well-deserved vacation ! Things were not off to a good start with the surprise of a fierce cold, the wait at the airport (got to Brisbane airport way to early), when all the cute guys boarded a flight to Bundaberg and left me with the oldies, and the realization that a small plane equal big turbulence (I mean it woke me up, which is not something that easy to do from what I’ve been told). But of course, I can only be whining for a short period of time and I forgot all about it when I saw the sunset overlooking Fraser Island, B.E.A.utiful! The next day we cruised around in quiet (and boring) Hervey Bay. On the agenda : coffee on the beach at Enzo’s, walking on the pier and chatting with the fishermen (or the red tuna massacre), quick bite for lunch and a game of pool (Booyah! I won like a champ!), movie and barbecue! The highlight of the day was that OMG OMG moment when we were sitting by the sea and we saw two dolphins swimming around only 5 meters away from us! It was awesome! Anyway, in a couple of hours (of course my body didn’t get the memo that I was on vacation, so i can sleep normal hours, like normal people do) we will be heading to Fraser Island, the largest sand island of the world (wikipedia.com) ! Looking forward to it!
